Thesis Statement:

On July 16th, 1969, at the Kennedy Space Center, Apollo 11 launched towards the moon, with Edwin Aldrin, Neil Armstrong, and Michael Collins on board, on its way to becoming one of the most important human achievements. It broke technological and science barriers, fulfilling President John F. Kennedy's promise to have a man on the moon by the end of the decade. These breakthroughs created a new outlook on the universe where people's traveling beyond the doorstep of their home changed from abstract and theoretical to practical.
